Practical software, built with wisdom and care

Nyansapo Labs builds tools for places where the work is already hard enough. We start from a problem somebody actually has, and we ship something they can use on the device they already own.

A small company, built to last

Nyansapo Labs LLC is a software company registered in Michigan. We are early, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise: one product in active development, and a short list of problems we understand well enough to build for properly.

The name comes from Nyansapo, the Adinkra wisdom knot — a Ghanaian symbol of wisdom, ingenuity and learning applied with judgement. It is a reminder of the standard, and of where the work started.

Sukuu — school fee management

In development · Pilot schools wanted

School fees are collected in installments, recorded on paper, and reconciled by hand at the end of term. Nobody can say with confidence who still owes what. Sukuu is the system that office needs: fees, installments and payments, with balances that stay correct and roles the server actually enforces.

  • Fees charged to one student or a whole class at once
  • Installments and partial payments, with a balance that is always right
  • Cash recorded at the office; card and mobile money paid online by parents
  • Collected against outstanding, school-wide and per class
Sukuu's administrator dashboard. Three figures across the top — billed $15,755.00, paid $10,374.99, outstanding $5,380.01 — above a bar chart of paid against outstanding for each class, and a table repeating the same split per class.

Our approach

Three commitments that decide how everything here gets built.

Grounded in real problems

Every product here starts in a room where the work is already being done badly by hand. We build for that room first, and we keep the person who sits in it in the conversation while we build.

Secure by design

Permissions enforced on the server, not hidden in the interface. Money handled as exact decimals. An audit trail for anything that touches a balance. These are decisions made before the first screen, not patched in afterwards.

Simple to adopt

A school office should not need an IT department. Our software runs in a browser on the phone or laptop someone already has, and the shortest path to value is the one we optimise.

We are looking for pilot schools

Sukuu is being built with real school offices in view, and it gets better the more of them are in the room. If you run or work in a school that still tracks fees on paper or in a spreadsheet, we would like to hear how you do it today — whether or not you ever use the software.
